This policy explains what information PLAYE collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and what choices you have. We'll keep it plain.
1. Information We CollectInformation you give us
Name — used to personalize your experience and display publicly on your profile• Email address — used for account creation, login, and communications from us Information created when you use PLAYE Content you post — Sparks responses, Field Trip submissions, and other creative work you choose to share• Activity data — which Sparks you complete, streaks, and interactions within the app• Device information — device type, operating system, and app version for bug fixes and performance
Information from third parties• Apple — when you make in-app purchases, Apple processes the transaction. We receive confirmation of purchase but not your payment details.• Supabase — our database provider stores your account data and content on our behalf. Supabase does not use your data for its own purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use what we collect to:• Create and maintain your PLAYE account• Deliver Daily Sparks and track your creative practice• Display your public content to other users• Send you app updates, new features, and occasional emails (you can opt out)• Improve the product — understanding what works and what does not• Prevent abuse and keep the community safe• Comply with legal obligations We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it to serve third-party ads.
3. Your Content Is Public
When you share work on PLAYE, it is visible to other users and, in some cases, to visitors who are not logged in. Think of it like a public creative feed. Do not post anything you want kept private. You can delete content you have posted. Deletion removes it from PLAYE, but we cannot control copies that others may have made.
4. How We Share Information
We share your information only in these situations:• Service providers — Supabase (database), Apple (payments), and other tools we use to run PLAYE. These providers are contractually required to protect your data.• Legal requirements — if we are required by law, court order, or governmental authority• Safety — to protect the rights, property, or safety of PLAYE, our users, or the public• Business transfers — if PLAYE LLC is acquired or merges with another company, your information may transfer as part of that deal. We will notify you before that happens.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:• Access the personal information we hold about you• Correct inaccurate information• Delete your account and associated data• Object to or restrict how we process your data• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@playe.app. We will respond within 30 days.
7. International Users
PLAYE is operated in California, USA. If you are using PLAYE from outside the United States — including from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or elsewhere — your information is transferred to and processed in the United States. We take steps to ensure that transfer complies with applicable law. If you are in the EEA or UK, our legal basis for processing your personal data is:• Contract — processing necessary to provide you the service you signed up for• Legitimate interests — improving the product, preventing fraud, and keeping the community safe• Consent — for any marketing communications (you can withdraw at any time)
8. Children
PLAYE is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have done so, we will delete that information immediately. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at legal@playe.app.
9. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your information — including encrypted connections and access controls on our Supabase database. No system is perfectly secure. If we ever experience a breach that affects you, we will notify you as required by law.
10. Changes to This Policy
When we update this policy, we will change the effective date at the top and notify you in-app for material changes. Continued use of PLAYE after changes means you accept the updated policy.
